Squirrels were the first thing that popped into my head. So I drew squirrels!

I'm currently working on a set of Illustrations set in a woodland at night. This is the third out of the four I'd like to do.

The others so far are:

As the little hedgehog gazed up at the pale moon he realized he was all alone, and dearly wished for a friend to share his food with.

My Art Desk

I did my weekly tidy of my Arts and Crafts desk today. (And yes this is tidy for me) I thought I'd share a photo!
Its a huuuge desk, and I'm very good at cluttering it up as you can see. Still, my badge maker is pictured in the centre (Thats the orange thing) as well as my awesome laptop, which is covered in stickers.
Theres an aray of toys and craft materials kicking about too. It wouldn't be home without them.

Valentines day

I've been thinking a lot about Valentines day this year. I have an absolutely amazing boyfriend who I need to get some gifts for, thankfully I still have just under a month to get them sorted.

Anyway back on the subject of Valentines day, I thought I'd pop up an image of one of my badge sets. This is the "Key to my heart" badge set available on Etsy here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15426392

Now I must go back to thinking about what to get my boyfriend.

Advertising

I've been doing a lot of networking recently. Getting my name spread around as it were.

I now have the following websites advertising my little button Badges.

https://twitter.com/MuffinPuffART

I've also started to sell on Artfire @

http://MuffinPuffART.artfire.com

I'm still trying to find out which is bringing me the most views. As well as all my Internet work, I have a couple of little posters around my town in different shop windows.
Its been working fairly well. I'm feeling very positive about the whole online selling thing of late.

This little girl keeps cropping up in my Illustration Friday entries. I've yet to name her though. All I know is she really likes purple and her Mum has really bad taste in house decor.

Here her in my other entries:

Illustration Friday Brainstorm

I'm struggling about what to draw for this weeks Illustration Friday. The topic is "Contained" and while I have lots of ideas, I'm not sure of which one to follow.

I've really be enjoying my participation in Illustration Friday of late. I wish I had started soon to behonest.

In other news I'm going to try updating my blog more often from now on.

Resolve

Resolve
My entry for this weeks Illustration Friday "Resolve"

Based on the Fable "The crow and the water pitcher"

In the Fabe there is a very thristy crow who comes across a pitcher with water at the bottom. Unfortuantly he cannot reach the water as his beak isn't long enough. So the crow comes up with the plan of dropping pebbles into pitcher until it drives the water level up enough for him to drink.

Black and White Mermaid charm

More news on the Shrinky Dinking.

I've been experimenting with several different types although I've yet to get my hands on clear. Although I can't imagine it being too far off of the frosted variety.

Each type seemingly has its own pros and cons.

♥White

Pros //
♥Is textured which makes it easy to get colour on.
♥Makes a good back against bright colours.

Cons //
♥Pencils smudge easily on the surface
♥Pens won't dry and will smudge unless they are permanent.
♥Have to colour lightly or they will be very dark when shrunk.

♥Frosted

Pros //
♥Both Pencils and Pens work on the surface as it can hold ink.
♥Is translucent after shrinking for a very interesting look.
♥Can be printed on to.

Cons //
♥Pens can soak in a little to much and tend to bleed through the texture.
♥Prints come out as watery.

♥Printer

Pros //
♥Come out looking very sharp and bright
♥Can make use any image

Cons //
♥Take awhile to dry and can smudge
♥Need a computer, printer and image programme to make.
♥Can be hit and miss if you don't reduce the colour enough before printing.

I really love the printer type although I've had limited success recently. That may before my over use of varnish though. They bled and went rather funny.

I think out of the choices listed I find the Frosted works best for me. I've tried colouring in both pencil and pen but I adore the plain black and white look. Line art has always been one of my strongest points.

In other news I got some Mod Podge today. Its awesome!
