Illustration Friday - Star Gazing

This weeks entry to Illustration. Just something quick and fun! I haven't entered in aaaaaageees. I've had a bit of a creative block the last few days so when Illustration's Friday's email appeared I thought "why not!"

Projects and fun

Goodness. I always have a habit of dropping off the face of the Earth (or internet as it may be) and then randomly turning up again one day. Today is one of those days.

Well I did get my hair cut like I mentioned in my last post. I went from having it at the small of my back length to just below my ears. It was a big jump and quite frankly I love it. My hair is much cuter now and much more easy to look after.

Anyway back to is all that is crafting.

I've closed down my Artfire store, as it wasn't getting any sales and whilst the monthly fee wasn't overly expensive, it seemed a bit of a waste as money was going out but not coming back in. I also briefly dabbled in Dawanda which is another online store for selling your handmade things, but nothing came of that either so I closed it down.

I've decided to focus mainly on my Etsy store. I reached my 100th sale last month! My badges don't sell for much but it's still a small victory for me. Since my brand name is MuffinPuff ART! I've decided to relocate my Etsy store from to instead. Hopefully it will mean people will be able to find me better. Sadly it means I will have to leave beind all my lovely feed back, but I'm sure I can get it back again.

Although I've closed down some of my online ventures. I've also opened up my own Zazzle store. My Zazzle I've had 2 sales so far. Nothing big but its still a start. I really need to knuckle down and sort it all out.

MuffinPuff ART! Has its own Facebook fanpage now. Please check it out if you get the chance.

TGIF - Thank Goodness it's Friday

One of my favourite sayings that is. I do love a Friday evening, it's like a day equivalent of a sigh after a hard days work. You get home and visually melt into the sofa knowing that for the next few days you work for no man. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anyway I'm really looking forward to the next two weeks. My mother has time off from work and so we can actually spend some time together where she isn't muling over what happened the day before. It's gonna be great! Video games, movies and shopping! Fantastic!

In other news, I've decided to get my hair cut into a cute and quirky style. As much as I have loved my long hair over the years, I'm getting terribly bored of doing the same thing with it day in and day out. It also has a terrible tendency to get knotted which takes an awful lot of combing and swearing to remove. To commemorate the fact I'm getting my hair cut I've already started to make some cute hair clips from Fimo. I've finally found a type of blank that actually stay in my hair so I'm able to make my own now. Awesome!

A great start

For the first time so far this year it feels like I'm getting back on track with things.

I started this morning by sitting down and going through my colossal collection of socks. Now I don't exactly collect socks. It's not some weird hobby of mine or anything, but I do buy socks that catch my eyes and then turn them into dolls. I must have about 50 pairs or so just sitting in a basket waiting to be turned into something. Since they take up so much space I decided to ball them all rather than have individual ones in a huge pile.

After that I gave one of my Guinea pigs a bath. I recently adopted another boar who was having a hard time with an amorous rabbit. He is called Ratty and is a very sweet pig. He was a little dirty, having spent most of the last few weeks of his life hiding in a small plastic igloo, away from the affections of his cage mate. Now he is completely clean and his bath didn't stress him out nearly as much as I thought.

Once Ratty was dry I moved onto cleaning out my cupboard as I'm having a mass move around soon and need to free up some space. I have so many DVDs, books and games that need places to live and currently they are spilling into my craft space.. which is never a good thing! As I'm pressed for space as it is.

I've laminated some printouts of my photography and art today. Something to brighten up my bedroom. I'm been meaning to do it for ages, as my wallpaper is less than to be desired and its unlikely I'll be able to do up my room anytime soon.

To finish off today I've started to sew a little Pig doll from one of my socks. I've only made the head so far but it's looking promising.

Getting back into the swing of things

Well despite the weather work was back on today. Part of me is sad as extra free time is always an exciting prospect, but the other part is officially board of the internet. Yet here I am again.

I've spent so much time online and so much time playing on computer games I think I've had enough for awhile. It's about time I got back to sewing and crafting and creating! I'm always on about what I want to do and should be making but at the moment I'm finding it hard to stick to that. I suppose I should cut myself some slack as the year is still young and it always takes me a few days to get back into my groove after having a holiday. (The summer is the worst one for that)

Snow day.. sorta

I went into work today only to find work was closed due to bad weather conditions in Cornwall.
The sad thing is though that while the other towns that surround my town were having really bad snow storms and sleet it really wasn't so bad here.
So effectively I had a snow day.. but actually had no snow. :( So I walked home on slushy roads while getting rained on. It really doesn't snow very much down here, I think I've only seen around 10 snowfalls in my lifetime and I'm 23.

I got a little bit done today. While I wish I could say that when Free time strikes I use it constructively, I actually pretty much spent all day wasting it. Well I did tidy up a tiny bit! I moved some of my fabric around and sorted out my box of gloves.. but mostly I played on my Xbox. Computer games are a cruel mistress!

Still the evening is still young, and I think I may start a new sock doll.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!

My first blog post of 2010, and a great day to get the ball rolling again. I've got lots of resolutions that revolve around all aspects of my life.

Crafting wise!
  • Keep up with Etsy. (Advertising and selling)
  • Actively produce more designs to sell.
  • Save cash made from sales.
  • Learn to use the sewing machine more efficiently.
  • Keep my crafting area tidier (The one I'm most likely to fail lol)
Work wise!
  • Keep up with paperwork.
  • Sort it efficiently and store it an easy to understand manner.
  • Moan less.
Health wise!
  • Eat more fruit
  • Cut out Crisps from diet.
  • Eat less chocolate
  • Walk home from work more.
I've got a lot to be getting into then.
