Illustration Friday - Imperfect

Chianne knows she isn't perfect, but hey who cares? If your happy that is all that matters.

There are a couple of flaws with the picture, leaving it Imperfect itself, but I'm trying to care less about mistakes and just drawing stuff that makes me happy.

Every Inchie Monday - Rust

Thi is my weeks entry to "Every Inchie Monday." The subject this week was rust. Now I grew up in the Cornwall Countryside (Cornwall is in England, I'm a few miles off where the legend of King Arthur and Merlin hails from.) which was riddled with farms and country gardens. Basically a stunning place to be if you like things that aren't always perfect or immaculate. It was always common to come across old rusted items being used as flower pots or water containers for animals, bits of scrap metal half buried in gardens surrounded by unchallenged wild flowers.

I really miss it. I moved to a seaside town. Now while I love the Cornish Coastline, my heart belongs to the woods and farms.

Every Inchie Monday - Sunset

I figured I'd better make an actual post dedicate to this Inchie if I was going to enter Every Inchie Monday, sort of how I do with Illustration Friday.

Anyway without futher ado here is my Inchie to the Theme of "Sunset"

I will add that is is very hard drawing this small, and its such a shame that it doesn't look nearly as cool when you scan or take photos that increase the size.

I used to live in a house called Sunset Cottage, and you could always see such amazing views from our windows.

The wonderful world of Inchies.

This isn't a new hobby of mine, but it is something I've put on the back burner for about a year or so.

I'm talking about Inchies. Inchies are 1inch square forms of artwork. You can create them anyway you'd like but they have to fit into 1 inch. I tend to opt for drawing them personally although I have seen some amazing mixed media ones.

I've decided to take up a challenge which I call "An Inch a Day" basically I'm going to draw an inchie depicting my day for a year. Basically like a tiny picture diary! Today is day 2 but not enough has happened yet for me to actually draw anything yet.

I've also decided to participate in Every Inchie Monday, which from what I can tell is similar to Illustration Friday, but on a much smaller scale.

I'm waiting for my new camera so I can get some better shots of them but for now here are two that I have scanned.

The first one was for my An Inch everyday challenge, and my second one is for Every Inchie Monday. The theme was "Sunset"

Illustration Friday - Obsession

This is my entry for this weeks Illustration Friday.

A homage to the Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle.

It works well for me on two levels. One level of obsession is the subject matter. I adore unicorns, they have been my favourite since I was a small child.
As for the other level, you'll need some back story to this piece. The Unicorn finds that she is the only one left in the world and starts a quest to find "others like" her. Only to find that they have all been chased away to an unknown place by a creature called "The Red Bull." I can recommend the story very much, in either Novel, Movie or now Graphic Novel form!

Trying Etsy again.

I've given the Etsy thing a try before and done fairly well, got quite a bit of feedback and made a few pennies in money. Admittedly it was with button badges and the like, but I'm preparing to give my actual crafts ago. So i've got some sock dolls, pin cushions, brooches and things like that all lined up and practically ready to sell.

The only trouble is my Camera died a death about a day and half ago I've just had to fork out £50 for a new one. I must say though it's amazing how quickly technology improves. My old camera was 5 mega pixels but the camera I just ordered from play, has 14 Mega pixels and cost half the price. So hopefully the quality improvement will dazzle me.

I recently design and made some business cards ready for when I start selling stuff, since I've given my old store the boot it was time to update them.  I'm really pleased with the quality of them, Vista print are pretty awesome.

Here's a photo of Chianne and one of the label business cards I've had made.
